Inspired by Design

"Create in a way that speaks to your purpose and aligns with your soul. Give yourself permission to be anything but someone else."
My Personal Brand Identity Design
Welcome to my brand. As my personal identity, the designs in the project speak to who I am as a designer as well as a person. My aim as a designer is to take inspiration from all things around me, with nature and the environment being a huge factor in this. Looking around us, there is contrast everywhere and yet it all works seamlessly together. I can see how the softness of a leaf might contrast with the hard and solid trunk. I see the serene flow of water and the sturdiness of the rocks that stand in it. There's the concrete house that holds the home inside. This high contrast that I can find around me is what I want my brand to be about. My brand is organic and feminine but also features contrasting elements of modern and solid.
Design: Brand Aesthetic & Colours
Design: Logo
For my brand identity, I wanted to create a series of logo designs that could work in various different situations. The primary logo was all about overlap and contrast, using depth, colours and stroke thickness to elevate each part and allow it to stand out on its own while still communicating and connecting with the design as a whole. Using the primary logo as a starting point, I then created the secondary logo which still used many of the elements from the primary logo but focused on being more length based. The secondary logo also incorporated my slogan "inspired by design". Finally, I created the logo mark which simply made use of the "P" icon. I still wanted to portray the idea of contrast with the logo mark so created an almost diamond-like geometric shape to hold the organic and flowing "P" icon.
Design: Patterns
I love patterns as part of a brand identity and knew that I wanted to use them in my brand. Once again, I aimed to create patterns that promoted the contrast, whether that was in the colours that I used or simply in the style of the different patterns. The outcome was that I ended up with patterns that were more natural and organic and some that leaned towards being more modern, clean and geometric.
